But this is because you’ve got your previous English lessons in mind. I promise it’ll be fun. So fun you won’t even notice. (I have a secret for that. Ok it’s not 0 calories. But it works.)
I could tell you that you’ll become fluent with some miracle solution. I’m sure you’ve seen these. But we all know what it takes to master a new skill: to devote time and energy into regular practice. No exception.
So this is the reason why Hackcent only offers intensive programs. Because they are the only way to get results! As simple as that.

Be ready to get out of your comfort zone!
Based on innovative teaching practices, none of Hackcent’s programs are like what you are used to. All programs are hands-on and offer a chance to actively use the language and put in practice what you’ve learnt so far.
That is why at Hackcent, there are no English classes but only “English workshops” because we don’t want students, we want trainees; active trainees engaged in their learning. You are not taught, you learn by doing, by experiencing. You are 100% active.

Best way to learn and retain? Immersion. We all know that. But we often don’t know why.
The reason? A stimulating environment, engagement and emotions. That is why Hackcent recreates an immersive environment for you just one tram trip away from your home, in the heart of Geneva.

No General English at Hackcent.
When you register for a program, you will be given the tools and the space to learn and practice specific skills: Oral Skills, Pronunciation, English for Work, Presentation skills, Public speaking.
Then each program is task-based. You’re given an objective and by the end of the class, we provide you with the resources, knowledge and guidance to reach that very goal.
Success is very enjoyable and progress is then clearly accountable: I can’t vs I can.

No matter what the brochure said, you always ended up spending most of your class time listening to the teachers, doing exercises, correcting them and if we were lucky enough you were given a chance to speak in the last 15 minutes. No wonder your oral level hasn’t improved much…
But isn’t it what you need the most though? Artificial Intelligence will probably make its way into our daily lives soon and handle all our written tasks. What about speaking? Never. At least let’s hope so… This is the reason why Hackcent is oral skills-centered, having you focus on what really matters.

Collaboration is a win-win learning method.
If you don’t know something, you’ll learn. And if you do, you get to teach it! And it is a proven fact that there is no better and faster way to master a subject than to teach it. Conclusion, no matter what, you’ll grow.
Collaboration was a key element in designing Hackcent’s method and developing group programs because it is a learning booster. As the saying goes, “alone you go faster but together we go further.”
Supervised study
because I want you to succeed
We’re all filled with good intentions. We say we will study regularly but we all know that after a few weeks, something will come up and our motivation will be challenged.
But you won’t be on your own. Every week, once the class is over, I’ll become your personal coach. I will propose you an independent-study program each week. When you hand it in, I will send back corrections with feedbacks and suggestions for further practice.
I will be available to answer all questions and I will also send you reminders to make sure you’re keeping up with the material and that nothing can stop you on your way to making English a real asset.
